Log analysis tools

Read, compare and sort log files from your own servers, containers and exports. Files never leave your device.

Production logs are hard to read when they come from several places at once: a web server, an application running in three pods, a database, and an export from a log tool such as Graylog. These tools run in your browser, so you can open a real export without sending it to anyone.

Log Playground

Open up to 3 log files side by side or merged into one timeline, follow one request through all of them, and group repeated errors into patterns.

Log Compare

Give two logs from the same application, such as a good run and a bad one, and see the major differences: new errors, errors that disappeared, and counts that changed.

Log Sorter

Put lines exported from Graylog or another log tool from several pods into one time order, keep stack traces together, and see which pod each line came from.

Which tool do I need?

One log file, and you want to find errors: open it in the Log Playground and press Patterns.

Several files from the same system, and you want one timeline: open them in the Log Playground and choose Merged by time.

The same application before and after a change: open both runs in Log Compare.

An export from Graylog or another tool, from several pods: Log Sorter, once it is ready.

Questions about log analysis

Which log analysis tool should I start with?

Start with the Log Playground. It opens one or more log files, groups repeated errors into patterns, and merges several files into one timeline by time. The other tools on this page will use the same files.

Are production logs uploaded when I use these tools?

No. The tools read the file in your browser, on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server, so logs with customer data can be checked here as long as you are allowed to view them.

Will the other tools be free too?

Yes. Every tool on this page is free and runs in the browser, without an account.
