Questions
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The file is read inside your browser tab and is never sent to a server. There is no sign-up.
Why is the text empty for some pages?
Those pages are scans: pictures of text with no text layer. Use OCR PDF to read the text from scanned pages.
Are tables and columns kept?
Tick Keep tables as rows and each table comes out one row per line, with the cells separated by tabs, so it pastes into a spreadsheet. Tables drawn with lines or with merged cells may not be picked up. Without the tick, text is kept in reading order, line by line.
Why are headers and footers missing?
Lines at the top or bottom of the page that repeat on most pages, such as a company name or "Page 2 of 9", are removed. Untick Remove headers and footers to keep them.
Why does it say the PDF is password-protected?
The file needs a password to open. Unlock it first, then extract the text.
