Detecting and removing a watermark requires editing the PDF's internal structure directly, which we do on our own backend - not in your browser. Your file is uploaded, processed, and immediately discarded once you get your result back. It is never stored, logged, or shared with any third party.
What this can and can't do: it detects text-based watermarks specifically - rotated or unusually large text stamps like "CONFIDENTIAL" or "DRAFT". It won't find a watermark that's an image (a logo or stamped PNG), and depending on how the original PDF was built, some text watermarks may not be enclosed in a way this tool can isolate. Always review the detected list before removing anything.

How this works
Most watermarks are stamped onto a PDF as rotated or oversized text, isolated in their own drawing block. This tool scans every page's actual content stream (the PDF's own internal drawing instructions) for blocks matching that pattern, lists what it finds, and - only once you confirm - deletes exactly those instructions from the file. Everything else on the page, including all other text and layout, is left completely untouched.
Because this requires editing the PDF's internal structure rather than just rendering it, this specific tool runs on our own server rather than fully in your browser like the rest of this site. Your file is processed and discarded immediately - see the notice above for exactly what that means.

Which watermarks can it remove?
Text watermarks, such as a rotated or oversized CONFIDENTIAL or DRAFT stamp. It lists what it finds and removes only what you select.
Why was my watermark not found?
It is probably an image, such as a logo, or it is built into the page in a way that cannot be separated from the rest. This tool handles text watermarks only.
Does it change anything else in the PDF?
No. Only the watermark you select is removed. Other text and the layout are left as they are.
Is my PDF stored?
No. This tool uses a server: the PDF is uploaded, processed and discarded as soon as you get the result. It is not stored or logged.
Is it all right to remove a watermark?
Only from documents you own or have the right to change. A watermark often marks ownership or status, so do not remove one from someone else's document without permission.
