Blur Faces in a Video

Blur a person's face in a short phone video. Pause on a frame, click each face once, and the tool follows it through the whole clip. A second check looks for faces you did not select. Everything runs in your browser, and nothing is uploaded.

1. Choose a video

Up to 60 seconds, 100 MB, and 1920 pixels on the long edge. Many iPhones record 4K by default, which is too large: set the camera to 1080p, or trim the clip first.

How it works

Everything happens in your browser. Each face you select is followed through the whole clip, before and after the frame you picked, and blurred wherever it appears. A second check then looks for faces you did not select and lists them for you to decide. The result is saved as an MP4 with the original sound.

Some components are open source. Their licence notices are on the open-source licences page.

No tool can guarantee that every face is hidden. Faces that appear for less than a fifth of a second, or are turned fully away, can be missed. Always check the output before you share it.
